Adegbonmire: A Passionate Senator Building Brighter Tomorrows.

Adegbonmire: A Passionate Senator Building Brighter Tomorrows. The first time I saw him, he was just a man in a queue.  It was an ordinary afternoon in a banking hall humming with transactions and slow movements from the many people on the several queues in the hall, my father and I were also in a queue, waiting our turn at one of the many queues at the counter. I didn't notice him until the whispers began.    “Good afternoon, Senator!” The bank staff leaned over counters, palms pressed together in respect. There was a sudden air of surprise and respect and murmurs of greetings as the Senator approached the counter to make his transaction.   From across the room on our queue, I tugged my father’s sleeve. “Is that truly a Senator?” I asked, my voice hushed. In my young mind, Senators didn’t stand in lines. They swept past queues into offices where managers served tea and deference.  But there he was: Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, waiting his turn like a man who un...

The Mask Behind the Man: Unveiling the Troubling Conduct of Hon. Olumuyiwa Ogunyemi Honourable Olumuyiwa Ogunyemi, a politician from Akoko North East local government in Ondo State, whose actions have raised significant concerns, is not a figure of integrity as he often presents himself to be. His history is marked by deceit and betrayal, especially towards those who consider him a close ally.  One must question why he was not entrusted with a position in the government of Aketi until the second term, when he was only appointed as Special Assistant to Students and Youths. This delay speaks volumes about his reputation within political circles. How many prominent politicians has he feigned support for, only to undermine them when it suits his interests?  Moreover, his personal conduct is equally troubling. Ogunyemi has been known for his indiscretions, often engaging in affairs and attempting to tarnish the reputations of those who reject his advances. Recently, disturbing alle...

The slaughter continues: How many more must die before Nigeria acts? By Alex Adekunle James On Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025, as Christians around the world reflected on the moment Christ peacefully rode into Jerusalem, Plateau State was met not with peace, but with horror. That night, armed militants invaded communities, more than 50 people were killed in cold blood. Just two days later, on Tuesday, April 15, the bloodshed continued. Suspected herders attacked Otobi in Otukpo LGA, Benue State, killing at least 11 more and displacing hundreds. It marked the third assault on the community in April alone. These atrocities are not isolated. They are part of a disturbing pattern of violence in both states. From the mass killings in Barkin Ladi and Kanam (Plateau) to recurring attacks in Gwer and Otukpo (Benue), entire communities are being wiped out. Yet, what follows is a familiar script: horror, press statements condemning actions, and then silence. Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau and G...
