A New Chapter for Nigeria's Economy; ACCI & Minister Jisalo Chart Path for Economic Growth

Hon. Olakusibe Morakinyo Obayan Commends Strengthened Government–Private Sector Collaboration Following Minister Jisalo's Visit to ACCI

The recent visit of the Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Rt. Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, MFR, to the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) marks another important milestone in strengthening collaboration between the Federal Government and Nigeria's organised private sector.

As an Executive Council Member of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and CEO of PROLIFICX Group, I was honoured to join our distinguished President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, members of the Executive Council, and the management of the Chamber in receiving the Honourable Minister at the ACCI Headquarters.

Hon. Olakusibe Morakinyo Obayan

The visit reaffirmed the Federal Government's recognition of the critical role the organised private sector plays in driving economic growth, investment, industrial development, entrepreneurship, and job creation across Nigeria.

The leadership of ACCI, under the visionary guidance of Chief Emeka Obegolu, continues to champion policies that promote a more competitive business environment. His call for stronger collaboration with the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs reflects the Chamber's commitment to improving the ease of doing business and supporting sustainable economic development.

I strongly align with the Chamber's advocacy for increased government investment in strategic industrial hubs such as the Idu Industrial Area and the Kwali Industrial Park. Developing these industrial clusters will stimulate manufacturing, attract investors, expand commercial activities, and create thousands of employment opportunities for Nigerians.

The Chamber's commitment to evidence-based policy advocacy through its National Policy Advocacy Centre (NPAC) further demonstrates that constructive engagement between government and the private sector remains essential to national development. The conferment of the prestigious National Policy Fellow (NPF) honour on the Honourable Minister was a well-deserved recognition of his contributions to public service and intergovernmental cooperation.

I commend the Honourable Minister for assuring the Chamber of his readiness to work with relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to improve the investment climate and strengthen public-private partnerships. Such collaboration is necessary if Nigeria is to unlock its enormous economic potential.

As someone who has spent years building businesses and promoting enterprise, I firmly believe that a thriving private sector is the engine of national prosperity. When businesses flourish, investments increase, innovation expands, jobs are created, and communities experience meaningful economic growth.

I remain committed to supporting the vision of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry by contributing my experience, promoting entrepreneurship, encouraging innovation, and fostering partnerships that will benefit businesses and the Nigerian economy.

Together, through purposeful leadership, sound policies, and strong collaboration between government and the private sector, we can build a more prosperous, competitive, and economically resilient Nigeria.
