REDUCED SPEED LIMITS DURING EASTER CELEBRATION, CALLS FOR CAUTION AMONG ROAD USERS.

Hon. Derin Adesida, Chairman House Committee on Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called on the leadership of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to adopt proactive measures in ensuring road safety during the Easter period. He emphasized the need for increased vigilance due to the unique challenges that come with fasting, including fatigue and reduced concentration among drivers.


In his statement, He urged road users to exercise caution, adhere strictly to traffic rules, and avoid reckless driving, especially when traveling for the celebration with their family.


He further encouraged the FRSC to Increase patrols on major highways and accident-prone areas and Sensitize the public on the risks of driving while fatigued. Also, enforce speed limits and other traffic regulations to prevent avoidable accidents and Provide emergency response support for road users in distress.





“As we observe Easter celebration, let us also prioritize safety on our roads. I urge all drivers to be responsible, avoid overspeeding, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before embarking on any journey,” he stated.


He reaffirmed his commitment to road safety initiatives and called on relevant stakeholders to collaborate in reducing road accidents during Easter celebration and beyond.
