Financial scandal hits OSOPADEC, as Ondo anti-graft agency probes diversion of N800m

The Ondo State Public Complaints, Financial Crimes, and Anti-Corruption Commission (SPFACC) is currently investigating diversion of shares worth over N800 million belonging to the Ondo State Oil Producing Development Area Commewion ( OSOPADEC).

The shares are allegedly reported to be shared by some past board members of the commission to the individual ownership.

The suspects, names withheld, are currently being investigated by the commission.

Responding to the case, the Secretary of SPFACC, Prof. Adewole Adeyeye, confirmed that the case was being investigated by the commission.

Also, the commission confirmed the handling of a case of one Mr Femi Ibikunle, the Chief Executive Officer of the Okolere Agbe Environmental Hospitality Management who allegedly refused to pay his over 200 workers of 7 months salaries.

The workers, who were cleaners, were deployed to the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo( UNIMED), and each of them was being paid N12,000 per month.

The commission, which spoke on the allegation, said that it was investigating the matter and would ensure that justice was done.

The commission added that it would not go into details of the two cases to ensure the sanctity of the commission.

Speaking , Mrs Victoria Iyanuoluwapo, one of the workers, said that she was being owed 7-month salary

Iyanuoluwa explained that she was employed in 2020 until she left the job in 2022 because of irregularities in the payment of her salaries.

Similarly, Mrs Olamide Alade, another worker, said that she left the job in 2025 having been owed 6 months salaries with insistence of Mr Ibikunle that he could not pay the salaries.

Alade stated that the affected workers approached the anti graft agency for justice, adding that they did not want to take law into their hands in getting their monthly dues.
