MEDIA PARLEY:

Hon. Derin Abiodun Adesida Holds Media Parley with FRSC, Corps Marshall, commends Commander Shehu Mohammed’s Proactiveness

In a bid to strengthen collaboration between federal agencies and the community, Hon. Derin Abiodun Adesida, Member representing Akure North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, held a media parley with members of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The interactive session, which brought together officers of the FRSC, members of the press, and key stakeholders in the transport sector, was an opportunity to foster dialogue, address concerns, and build stronger partnerships for road safety and community engagement.

During the parley, Hon. Adesida commended the Corps Mashall, Shehu Mohammed, for his proactiveness, professionalism, and dedication to ensuring safer roads within Ondo State. He acknowledged the FRSC’s efforts in reducing road accidents, enforcing traffic regulations, and promoting public safety.

In his remarks, Hon. Adesida emphasized his role as a mediator between FRSC personnel and road users, stressing the need for mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation on both sides. He noted that while law enforcement is essential, it must be balanced with empathy and fairness, particularly in dealing with everyday road users and commercial transport operators.

“My duty as a representative of the people is not only to make laws but also to facilitate dialogue between institutions and the citizens they serve,” he said. “I commend the FRSC for their work and encourage continued communication that fosters trust, compliance, and public confidence.”

The Honourable Member reiterated his commitment to supporting the FRSC’s operational effectiveness through legislative advocacy and community sensitization initiatives. He also called for sustained public education on traffic laws and road safety practices.

The session concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among participants to continue working hand-in-hand in ensuring the safety and orderliness of roads across the constituency and beyond.
