In a laudable demonstration of his unwavering commitment to educational advancement and effective grassroots representation, Hon. Derin Abiodun Adesida, Honourable Member representing Akure North and South Federal Constituency, sponsored a substantial delegation of Akure indigenes to participate in the recent public hearing at the National Assembly regarding the proposed upgrade of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure (FECA) into a full-fledged university.
The public hearing was part of the legislative process to deliberate on the bill seeking the elevation of FECA, a pivotal institution in Ondo State’s educational and agricultural landscape. The hearing attracted key stakeholders across the education sector, traditional institutions, alumni associations, and civil society organizations.
Through Hon. Adesida’s initiative, Akure was well represented by a cross-section of stakeholders including traditional leaders, youth representatives, academics, alumni, and community advocates. This ensured that the unique perspectives and aspirations of the Akure people were actively voiced and acknowledged during the proceedings.
Speaking on the motivation behind this impactful gesture, Hon.
