HON. FASUA BETTER VISION INITIATIVE FOR AKURE: A RESOUNDING SUCCESS EMBRACED BY THE COMMUNITY








The "HON. FASUA BETTER VISION INITIATIVE FOR AKURE" was officially launched on Monday, May 5, and concluded on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. This remarkable two-day medical outreach event made significant strides in improving eye health within the community. Fully sponsored by the Akure South Local Government under the visionary leadership of Hon. Gbenga Timothy Fasua, this initiative was successfully executed in partnership with the dedicated team at the Victri Foundation.









The program greatly advanced public health by providing free eye examinations, distributing reading glasses and medications at no cost, and promoting important awareness of eye health and preventative care. The mission extends beyond merely treating existing vision issues; we are equally committed to educating our community on maintaining long-term eye health.


In his inspiring opening address, Chairman Hon. Gbenga Timothy Fasua reaffirmed his steadfast commitment to the well-being of Akure South's residents. He stated, "This initiative exemplifies our determination to enhance the quality of life for the people of Akure South. The overwhelming turnout and heartfelt testimonials we’ve received underscore the significant impact we are making in our community and validate our efforts toward achieving a people-centred governance model."







The Chairman emphasized the vital role of outreach initiatives in addressing health disparities and ensuring that underserved populations receive the care they rightly deserve. He commended the collaborative efforts of the Victri Foundation, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and other partners, acknowledging their hard work and dedication in bringing this essential event to fruition.







As he concluded his address, he issued a powerful call to action: "Together, we will continue our journey toward building a healthier, stronger Akure South for all. Every step we take is a stride toward a brighter future for our community."


Beneficiaries of the program expressed their deep gratitude to the Chairman for his compassionate leadership and unwavering commitment to the people of Akure South. Many shared that this was their first direct experience with government initiatives and urged the Chairman to maintain his momentum in improving their lives.
