- Says Sacrifices of the country's past leaders and founding fathers should not be forgotten. 















As Nigerians mark 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, the Senator Representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Sen. Adeniyi Adegbonmire SAN has urged Nigerians to continue to embrace unity and love in the country's diversity. 


Adegbonmire, in his goodwill message to commemorate this year's  democracy day, said Nigerians could not have won the battle against military dictatorship without the sacrifices of the country's past leaders and it's founding fathers.


He congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the people of Ondo Central and Nigerians at large saying" Nigeria's 26 years of unbroken democratic governance is a testament to the resilence and unwavering commitment of Nigerians to the principles and tenets of democracy"


The Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters emphasized that the country's diversity is her strength and we should therefore set aside our differences and work together in unity so as to have a prosperous nation in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's  Renewed Hope Agenda.


" As we commemorate today,  26 years of our country's uninterrupted democratic governance, I am proud to celebrate the resilence and progress of our dear nation. 


"Our progress is a testament to the sacrifices made by our past leaders, our founding fathers, and the heroes of democracy who fought for our freedom and the right to self-determination.


"As we reflect on the progress we have made, we must continue to uphold the values of democracy, promote inclusivity, and ensure that every voice is heard. It is our shared responsibility to foster a society where justice prevails and the rights of all citizens are safeguarded.


"While celebrating this year's Democracy Day, let us renew our commitment to building a prosperous and united Nigeria in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda," he added.
