In a gesture of appreciation, representatives of the Oluwafemi Aloba (Honeymoon) Community, Ondo Road, Isinkan, Akure, paid a thank-you visit to Hon. Sunday Adejuyigbe, Chairman of Akure West Local Council Development Authority, at his office.


The community chairman, Mr. Kehinde Boboye, who led the visit, emphasised that the visit was prompted by the proactive intervention of the government, facilitated by Hon. Sunday Adejuyigbe, through the office of Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Engagement in the Aloba community recently.






He noted that the government's efforts were not only commendable but also provided significant relief to residents in flood-prone areas. He added that, previously, the Aloba community lived in constant fear during heavy rainfall, but the ongoing dredging of the Yeye River by the government is a timely and strategic approach to protect lives and properties in the area.


The community leader praised Adejuyigbe’s unique and responsive leadership, noting that during his recent on-the-spot assessment visit to the community, he promised swift government intervention. The community witnessed remarkable and timely fulfillment of these promises, which was described as monumental.


In response, Adejuyigbe emphasised the potential impact of the dredging on the community, especially during the rainy season, and urged residents to adopt proper waste disposal habits to prevent further flooding. He expressed gratitude to the Aloba community for recognising the government's efforts in governance at all levels.


The chairman added that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration is committed to delivering life-changing services to people, regardless of their location. He further noted that, as government officials closer to the grassroots, their role is to ensure the yearnings and expectations of the people are brought to the governor’s attention for prompt action. He urged the Aloba community to continue supporting the governor.


On the same day, the chairman, accompanied by Hon. Femi Fadairo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Engagement, responded to a call from the Ooye Eyinapata community by visiting to address issues of poor drainage systems and other infrastructural challenges.


Adejuyigbe’s engagement with the communities demonstrates his unwavering commitment to grassroots concerns and ensuring their demands are promptly conveyed to the relevant authorities for action. While awaiting the government’s timely response, the community chairman, Imam Ismail Abdul-Nafiu Ododoloto, reiterated the Ooye Eyinapata community’s unalloyed support and loyalty to the government.
