In Jalingo, Taraba State – The Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC) in Jalingo has experienced a significant progress under the leadership of its principal, Dr. Samuel Bibinu.

During a recent courtesy visit, it was evident that the school has relocated from its former site to a new, permanent location, marked by significant infrastructural development.

FEDERAL SCIENCE AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE JALINGO WITNESSES REMARKABLE TRANSFORMATION UNDER  DR. SAMUEL BIBINU'S LEADERSHIP

Dr. Bibinu, an indigene of Taraba State, has overseen the construction of impressive edifices and modern facilities in a strategic part of Jalingo, elevating the institution’s status as a hub for technical and vocational education.

This progress stands in stark contrast to the era of previous leadership, where non-indigenes managed the school.

Highlighting Dr. Bibinu’s impactful tenure since assuming office. In a groundbreaking announcement, Dr. Bibinu revealed that the Federal Government has declared free education at all 33 Federal Science and Technical Colleges across Nigeria, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.

This policy eliminates all fees, making quality education accessible to more students. Additionally, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program, set to commence in August 2025, will offer hands-on training in fields such as engineering, hospitality, healthcare, and construction.

Dr. Bibinu emphasized that the TVET program is designed to equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills, preparing them for immediate employment or self-employment opportunities, aligning with the demands of today’s job market.

The benefits of the TVET program are substantial, offering free tuition and accommodation for the three-year training period, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder access to education. Graduates will emerge with specialized qualifications, ready to contribute to the workforce or establish their own businesses.

Dr. Bibinu’s leadership and the Federal Government’s commitment to free education have positioned FSTC Jalingo as a beacon of progress, fostering hope for a brighter future for students in Taraba State and beyond.

The principal’s dedication to advancing technical education continues to inspire, as the school sets a standard for excellence in Nigeria’s educational landscape.
