CJN LEADS JUSTICES IN CONDOLENCE VISIT TO JUSTICE PAUL ADAMU GALUMJE

Earlier today in Abuja, June 12, 2025 – In a poignant display of unity and compassion, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Hon. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokumbo Kekere-Ekun, GCON, led a delegation of eleven Supreme Court Justices to the Abuja residence of Justice Paul Adamu Galumje to mourn the passing of his beloved wife. 


The delegation, comprising Justices Abba-Aji Uwani Musa, Garba Lawal, Agim Emmanuel Akomaye, Sankey Jummai Hannatu, Uwa Chidiebere Nwaoma, Nwaogu-Iheme Chioma Egondu, Tsamani Haruna Simon, Adumein Moore Aseimo Abraham, Adah Stephen Jonah, and Ogunaya Obande Festus, all JSC, gathered to offer their heartfelt condolences. 


This solemn visit underscored the judiciary’s deep-rooted sense of camaraderie, standing as a testament to the strength of Nigeria’s judicial community in supporting one of its esteemed members during a time of profound grief.


The condolence visit commenced with a heartfelt prayer led by the Registrar of the Supreme Court, setting a reflective and reverent tone for the occasion. 


The CJN presented an official condolence letter on behalf of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, expressing deep sympathies and celebrating Justice Galumje’s enduring contributions to the nation’s judiciary.


The Justices shared words of solace, honoring the memory of Justice Galumje’s wife, whose loss has deeply touched the judicial family. This collective gesture of support highlighted the Supreme Court’s commitment to fostering unity and compassion, reinforcing the bonds that connect its members beyond the courtroom.


In a touching continuation of solidarity, former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed from Taraba State, paid a separate condolence visit to Justice Galumje’s residence shortly after the Supreme Court delegation. His visit further emphasized the enduring respect and fellowship within Nigeria’s judiciary, bridging past and present leadership in a shared moment of mourning. 


These successive visits by the nation’s highest judicial figures reflect the profound esteem in which Justice Galumje is held and the judiciary’s unwavering dedication to standing by its members in times of personal sorrow, resonating as a powerful symbol of unity and empathy within Nigeria’s apex court.
