JALINGO, TARABA STATE – The city of Jalingo was enveloped in solemnity on Thursday, June 19, 2025, as family, friends, and dignitaries gathered at the Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria (CRCN) Centre to bid farewell to Late Mrs. Zeporah Adamu Paul Galumje.


The wake-keep service, conducted by the CRCN Centre, was a heartfelt tribute to a woman described as a beacon of faith and love, whose memory will forever live in the hearts of those she touched.


The service, led by Rev. Dr. Mark Ato, brought together a cross-section of Nigeria’s judiciary, political leaders, and the local community in a shared moment of reflection and gratitude for her life.


Rev. Sagarga Garge’a Nuvalga delivered a poignant sermon, drawing from Psalm 90:12 with the theme, “Teach Us to Number Our Days.” He urged the congregation to live purposefully, emphasizing the fleeting nature of life and the importance of preparing for eternity. The message resonated deeply, as mourners reflected on Mrs. Galumje’s enduring legacy of kindness and devotion. 










The vote of thanks by Rev. Yohanna Markus, Chairman of RCC Jalingo, set a tone of gratitude, while Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Bwacha CON, speaking on behalf of the family, expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the Nigerian judiciary for their support.


Senator Bwacha singled out Chief Justice of Taraba, Hon. Justice T.F. Agya, and other state justices for their compassion, noting, “We sincerely thank you on behalf of Justice Paul Adamu Galumje family.” In a moving reflection, he remarked that prolonged illness, as endured by Mrs. Galumje, often strengthens a believer’s faith, preparing them for heaven, while sudden death remains a Christian’s greatest fear.


Baba Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, in his own heartfelt address, extended gratitude to the Nigerian Bar Association, particularly the Taraba State chapter, for their unwavering support during this period of grief.


The service concluded with a sense of unity and hope, as attendees shared stories of Mrs. Galumje’s warmth and generosity. Her life, though ended, was celebrated as a testament to faith, resilience, and community, leaving an indelible mark on Jalingo and beyond.


As Senator Bwacha aptly noted, “She may have been called home to rest, but she lives eternally in our hearts.”
