So much has been said about the “loyalty and unwavering support” of a man, especially when it relates to great causes but the long list of people who earned such sentiment from one and all cannot be complete without the mention of former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Pius Egberanmwen Odubu, the Okakuo 1 of the Universe; a man who exemplifies the term in its fullness.


Rt. Hon. Dr Pius Egberamwen Odubu, was running mate and deputy Governor for 8 years along with his boss, the Ex Governor now Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole and their tenure transformed the shape and narratives of Edo State and its people, leaving footprints in the sands of time.


The Former Deputy Governor over the years, defined what loyalty and public interests truly mean. 


Odubu who is from Ward 7 Urhonigbe North in

Orhionmwon Local Government Edo State , was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2007. From 2008 to 2016, he served as the Deputy Governor of Edo state under Comr. Adams Oshiomhole and throughout, he demonstrated his loyalty to the people he represented, his boss in office, his political party, Edo people and the whole of Nigeria.


His dedication, loyalty, peace loving personality and capacity both as a die hard member of the All Progressives Party, APC and the people in general, led to his appointment by the chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission board in 2019, especially due to his knack for rapid and equitable development.


Dr. Pius Egberamwen Odubu is a man who believes that the glory of Edo can be restored and it can take its rightful place of pride as a hub of development, a centre of civilization, while its people can achieve the inherent potentials in them to be the light that sparks and lights up wherever they are and become key players in all areas they find themselves.


These inform the activities and actions of the man with a heart larger than skies- Willing and able to accommodate everyone and help them actualize their dreams and aspirations.


Odubu, a peaceable and peaceful fellow, has proven himself to be a man of vision, action, unwavering commitment, and leadership acumen earned him the confidence and position of the head of the 24-member transition committee to work with the outgoing administration of the immediate past administration in Edo State in the transition and ushering in of the new administration led by the current Governor Monday Okpebholo.


Summarily, Dr. Odubu has in his belt, Proven Leadership and Legislative Excellence; Deep Grassroots connections and camaraderie against the norm where many politicians lose touch with their constituents; Championing of Development; love the Empowerment of all across the age spectrum; Visionary Leadership and Actions; commitment to Accountability and Transparency; Heart for Service that goes beyond politics and political affiliations; Integrity and purposeful leadership.
