SENATOR ADEGBONMIRE, SAN TRAILBLAZING LEGACY
Since assuming office in 2023, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, has redefined constituent service through visionary leadership and impactful initiatives.
His relentless commitment to progress has positioned Ondo Central as a model of development, setting a new benchmark for public service in Nigeria.
The lawmaker has championed transformative infrastructure projects, most notably securing the inclusion of the Akure-Ondo-Ore Highway dualization in the 2024 National Budget, signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
His efforts have also led to the grading and maintenance of critical roads, including the 30km Oke Iya Community Road, Abo-Oluwa Ijigba 2 Community Road, and Old Board Road in Oda Community. Additionally, he has enhanced community safety and accessibility by installing solar-powered streetlights and boreholes across the senatorial district.
As a passionate advocate for education and empowerment, he has launched initiatives that have uplifted countless lives. He donated a state-of-the-art digital library to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Akure Branch, procured UTME/JAMB forms for over 300 students in 2024 and 500 in 2025, and awarded scholarships to top-performing candidates.
His contributions to education include distributing over 10,000 exercise books, laptops, magnetic boards, projectors, and school bags to schools, churches, and institutions.
Furthermore, he has empowered 100 fresh graduates with training in ICT and solar panel systems, equipped 70 women with skills in oil palm processing, and provided agro-allied products to support farmers.
In the coming months, Senator Adegbonmire is set to launch a landmark constituency empowerment program, poised to be a game-changer for Ondo Central. His humanitarian efforts have already delivered significant relief, including the distribution of over 2,000 bags of 50kg fertilizers to farmers and 600 bags of federal government palliative rice to residents.
His infrastructure interventions in education include constructing 12 blocks of classrooms at St. Helen’s Unity Secondary School and renovating schools such as Fagbo Community Comprehensive High School and St. Andrew and St. Thomas Primary School. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters, Senator Adegbonmire has been a formidable voice for his constituents.
He has proposed transformative bills, including the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Akure; Federal University Akure Teaching Hospital; Federal University of Art, Culture, Science, and Tourism; and Federal College of Vocational and Technical Studies. As the only Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in the Senate, Senator Adegbonmire’s tireless dedication and exemplary leadership have earned him widespread admiration.
