ENGAGING WITH LEADERSHIP FOR YOUTH INNOVATION AND PUBLIC SAFETY AT THE 7TH MSMEs CLINIC

In my capacity as the State Coordinator of the Ondo State Youth Network (OSYN), I had the honour of engaging with His Excellency, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ondo State, at the recently concluded 7th Edition of the Expanded National MSMEs Clinics, held in Akure, Ondo State.
The clinic served as a powerful platform to showcase the creativity, enterprise, and resilience of young Nigerians, especially in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. It was also a rare opportunity for direct interaction between policymakers and young innovators like myself who are passionate about driving development and safety in our communities.
As a professional with deep expertise in fire safety and emergency response, and currently serving within the Fire Service , I proudly exhibited a wide range of modern fire extinguishers and safety devices at the event. My goal was to promote fire prevention awareness and advocate for the inclusion of safety education in the growth strategy of MSMEs across the state and country.
Our exhibition drew attention and appreciation from both the Vice President and the Governor, who acknowledged the importance of integrating safety innovation into business and enterprise development. I took the moment to emphasize the crucial role of fire safety in securing small businesses, public spaces, and critical infrastructures.
Representing the youth and contributing my quota to national development through my dual roles as a youth advocate and fire safety professional remains a source of deep fulfillment. The MSMEs Clinic reinforced my belief that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but active changemakers of today.
As we continue to push for more inclusive and impactful youth representation in governance, enterprise, and security, I remain committed to building safer communities and empowering young people to take bold steps in shaping the future.
