Hon. Abiodun Derin Adesida's outstanding stewardship in the House of Representatives from 2007-2011 and 2023 till date has been a game-changer for Akure North/South Federal Constituency. His commitment to the people is evident in the numerous projects and initiatives he has spearheaded.



2007 - 2011 STEWARDSHIP


In the history of representation in Akure North/South Federal constituency, nobody seems to have given back to the electorate than HON. ABIODUN DERIN ADESIDA.


CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS AND INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS


  - A block of three classrooms with modern toilet facilities, an office and hand pumped borehole at L. A 1 Primary School Akure, Akure South.


   - A block of three classrooms with modern toilet facilities, an office and hand pumped borehole at St. Thomas's Primary School Akure, Akure South.


  - Distribution of instructional materials to over ten (10) schools within the Federal constituency.


  - Distribution of 120 lockers and chairs for various primary schools in the area to boost educational development in the future .


 POWER PROJECTS


Society which doesn't enjoy constant power supply be it hydro-electrical, solar, wind or bi-fuel is grossly disadvantage and will be sideline in the scheme of both technical and technological breakthrough. Over thirty (30) transformers were distributed within Akure North/South Federal constituency to boost power distribution and bring relief to the area benefited in collaboration with Power Holding corporation of Nigeria. 

 The following locations benefited in the distribution of the transformer in both Akure North/South Federal constituency:

 - Akinola Adanikin Street, Ijoka road, Akure, Akure South 

  - Ifesowapo Street behind Onward, Ondo road, Akure, Akure South 

  - Odopo layout, Ijoka road, Akure, Akure South 

  - Gaga Community, off Idanre road, Akure, Akure South 

  - Sholagbade/Obodulu Street, Oshinle Quarters, Akure, Akure South 

  - Shasha Market, Oba-ile, Akure North 

  - Adesida layout Ehin-Ala, Akure, Akure South 

  - Akinwalere Street, Beside OSHA, Alagbaka Akure, Akure South 

  - Orita Obele Estate, Akure, Akure South 

  - Millennium Estate behind Seebi Holdings, Akure, Akure South 

  - Behind Eji-Oba High School, Oba-ile, Akure North 

  - Junction after New Royal Birds Hotels, Alagbaka, Akure, Akure South 


Remaining transformers were distributed and allocated by Power Holding Corporations of Nigeria within Akure North/South Federal constituency.


  - He influenced the installation of N150M power distribution Sub-Station beside Farmers Congress to boost PHCN power distribution in Akure, Akure South 


  - Installation of two billion-naira PHCN Transmission Sub-Station sited at Akure - Owo road, for both Ondo and Edo State. It was to meet the energy needs of people.


WATER PROJECT


 The water project were in two types: the hand pumped and the solar powered motorized boreholes.


  - The hand pumped boreholes were strategically constructed in all the wards in both Akure North/South Federal constituency 


  - Solar powered motorized boreholes were installed in:

  - Erekesan Market 

  - Ifesowapo Community behind Onward, Ondo road 

  - Ijoka road and it's environment 

  - Ita Ogbolu 

  - Iju 

  - Ogbose 

  - Imuagun Street Akure 

  

ROAD CONSTRUCTION


He answered to the plight of a community in Oba-ile by constructing 2km road tied to ameliorate their road hardship 


HUMAN EMPOWERMENT


  - He organized attachment program for over 120 beneficiaries within Akure North/South Federal constituency with ten thousand (10,000) naira monthly 


  - Reinstatement of forty (40) Staffs of School of Agriculture Akure, arbitrary sacked by the institution.


  - Employment opportunities for over fifty (50) people within Akure North/South Federal constituency into Nigeria Customs and other lucrative befitting jobs.




2023 - TILL DATE STEWARDSHIP


 SOLAR -POWERED PROJECT


  - Installation of solar powered street lights within Akure North /South Federal constituency. The area covered witnessed a new lease of life as the residents took advantage of the constant light as soon as darkness comes. It also reduced crime rate as there is no hiding place for hoodlums.

   - Bill on upgrading FECA to Federal University, Akure that has passed second reading with public hearing.


  - Bill that will allow Federal Road Safety Corps expose to weapon like gun which will serve security for them
