ICHEN CULTURAL DAY IN ABUJA SHOWCASES UNITY AND VIBRANT TRADITIONS

The Ichen Cultural Association (ICADA) hosted its much-anticipated mid-year Cultural Dance event yesterday August 3, 2025, at the ICADA FCT Secretariat in Autabalefi, Abuja, starting promptly at 2:00 PM.


The event drew a colorful crowd of Ichen sons and daughters, amongst; *Dcr, Barr. Edingah Galumje Mni* of Federal High Court Abuja and many others prominent sons and daughters of Ichen who turned out in striking traditional attire and elegant corporate outfits, reflecting the pride and diversity of the Ichen community.


The day was a celebration of heritage, love, unity, and shared identity, with families, elders, and youth coming together to honor their roots in a lively display of culture and camaraderie.


The event opened with a heartfelt prayer led by Pastor Auta Galadima, setting a solemn tone for the gathering.


Comrade Janseh Luka Diffobea Mamman delivered a warm welcome speech, energizing the crowd and setting the stage for the day’s activities.


The highlight came when ICADA FCT Chairman, Mr. Jatau Kpeno Gbana, took the podium to introduce dignitaries and extend a heartfelt welcome to all attendees.


Mr. Jatau passionately called for love and unity among the Ichen people, emphasizing the importance of togetherness in preserving their cultural heritage.


His address resonated deeply, underscoring the event’s theme of fostering harmony within the community.


The presence of the ICADA National Chairman Mr. Luka Ikpi, who traveled from Jalingo to attend, added a special touch to the occasion.


In his remarks, Mr. Luka expressed gratitude to Ichen sons and daughters worldwide, particularly those in Abuja who made time to participate.


He echoed the call for unity, love, and harmony, urging the community to remain connected and supportive of one another.


The event continued with vibrant cultural performances, showcasing traditional dances and music that captivated attendees and reinforced the rich legacy of the Ichen people, leaving everyone inspired and proud of their shared identity.
