ADEGBONMIRE SAN, CONGRATULATES  GOVR AIYEDATIWA ON SUPREME COURT VICTORY

The Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, has congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, his deputy Dr.Olaide Adelami and All Progressives Congress APC on the decisive victory at the Supreme Court, which  put a final seal on the legal contest over the November 16, 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo State.

Adegbonmire in a congratulatory message personally signed described the Supreme Court verdict as the triumph of democracy and the will of the people.

At the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, the apex court dismissed the appeal challenging Governor Aiyedatiwa’s election following its withdrawal by the appellant, Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)

Ajayi, through his counsel, said he withdrew the case after due consultation with members of the PDP.

The five-member panel led by Justice Inyang Okoro also dismissed the appeals filed by the governorship candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Bamidele Akingboye, and his Allied Peoples Movement (APM) counterpart, Ogunfeyimi Kolawole.

With this judgment, Governor Aiyedatiwa has secured a final and conclusive legal endorsement of the people’s mandate freely given at the polls.

Senator Adegbonmire described the judgment as  historic affirmation of the rule of law and a resounding testament to the credibility of Nigeria’s judicial system. He praised the apex court for upholding justice with integrity, professionalism, and transparency.

The lawmaker further commended the party chairman, Engr.Ade Adetimehin for his steering leadership which led to the resounding victory of the party at all levels.

He also applauded the governor’s legal team for their diligence and the decorum they exhibited throughout the judicial process.

“The will of the people has once again prevailed. It is time to move beyond litigation and focus on governance, unity, and service to our people,” Adegbonmire stated.
