FORMER LAWMAKER ABDUSSALAM GAMBO MUBARAK LAID TO REST AMID TEARS AND PRAYERS IN ABUJA

The National Mosque in Abuja was a sea of somber faces and heavy hearts as dignitaries, colleagues, and loved ones gathered to bid farewell to Hon. Abdussalam Gambo Mubarak, a former member of the House of Representatives for Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency.


The Zuhr prayer and Salatul Janazah (funeral prayer) drew a crowd that spoke volumes of the late lawmaker’s impact.


Hon. Idris Maje, immediate past Deputy Speaker, senators, current and former National Assembly leaders, Taraba indigenes in Abuja, activists, and civil society comrades stood shoulder to shoulder in grief.


The air was thick with emotion as prayers echoed through the mosque, a collective plea for Allah’s mercy on a man whose life touched so many.


The gathering wasn’t just a formality; it felt like a family reunion steeped in sorrow. 


Leaders from Taraba, alongside National Assembly figures past and present, shared stories of Mubarak’s dedication—his voice for the people of Bali/Gassol, his warmth, his unwavering commitment to justice.


For the Taraba residents in Abuja, he was more than a politician; he was a brother, a bridge between their home state and the nation’s capital.


As the congregation moved from the mosque to Gudu Cemetery for the burial, the weight of loss was palpable.


Silent tears mixed with whispered prayers, each step a reminder of a life well-lived but gone too soon.


As the dust settled over Gudu Cemetery, those who knew Mubarak clung to hope through their faith.


“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdausi,” one mourner said, echoing the sentiment of all.


The outpouring of love and respect underscored the legacy of a man who served with integrity and heart.


For the Muslim Ummah and all who gathered, the day was not just about mourning but about celebrating a life that left an indelible mark. 


As they dispersed, the prayer lingered: Ameen. 😭🤦‍♂️🙏✊🏻
