HON. (BARR.) KAYODE TAIWO SAMSON LLM HAILS SUPREME COURT VERDICT, CONGRATULATES GOV. AIYEDATIWA ON VICTORY

The Chairman of Akure East LCDA, Oda, Hon. Barr. Kayode Taiwo Samson LLM, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and his Deputy, Dr. Olaide Adelami, on their resounding victory at the Supreme Court.

In a personally signed congratulatory message, Barr. Samson described the landmark judgment as a “triumph of democracy and the will of the people,” noting that it puts a conclusive end to the legal contest over the November 16, 2024, gubernatorial election in Ondo State.

The apex court, sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, dismissed the appeal brought by Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following its formal withdrawal. Similarly, appeals filed by the governorship candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Bamidele Akingboye, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Ogunfeyimi Kolawole, were also struck out.

With this ruling, Governor Aiyedatiwa has now secured the final judicial affirmation of the people’s mandate, freely and decisively given at the polls.

Barr. Samson praised the verdict as a “historic affirmation of the rule of law and a resounding testament to the strength and credibility of Nigeria’s judiciary.”

“Litigation is an integral part of the electoral process,” he noted, “and this judicial journey has further lent credibility to the governorship election in Ondo State.”

He further urged all stakeholders to embrace unity, peace, and progress.

“The will of the people has once again prevailed,” he declared. “It is now time to move beyond litigation and focus fully on governance, development, and service to our people.”

Signed:

Barr. Kayode Taiwo Samson, LLM

Chairman, Akure East LCDA
