NIGERIAN DELEGATION EMBARKS ON PARLIAMENTARY TOUR IN KUALALUMPUR

In KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – A high-level Nigerian delegation, led by Dr. Enyiekere Saviour, The Executive Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission, has arrived in Malaysia for an official parliamentary tour aimed at benchmarking best practices in legislative operations.


Among the key participants is Hon. Aminu Malle PhD, the Federal Commissioner representing Taraba State and the Northeast region, who joined fellow commissioners, senators, and senior officials to explore avenues for enhancing Nigeria parliamentary framework. 


The visit underscores Nigeria commitment to fostering international collaborations that could drive reforms in governance and legislative efficiency.


Hon. Aminu Malle PhD, a prominent figure and finest son from Taraba State with a strong track record in public service, emphasized the tour's potential to provide critical insights into Malaysia parliamentary model, which is renowned for its structured review mechanisms and adaptive policies.


Accompanied by Distinguished Senator Othman Hunkuyi, Hon. Mark Tersoo Hanmation, Hon. Mrs. Mary Samuel Ekpenyong, and Hon. Mrs. Oluga Taiwo Olukemi, along with other federal commissioners, directors, and deputy directors, the delegation is engaging in sessions focused on operational comparisons and improvement strategies.


Malle highlighted how such exchanges could help identify areas for amendment in Nigeria's system, promoting healthier growth and more effective lawmaking.


The essence of this assignment lies in exposing Nigerian leaders to global parliamentary standards, allowing them to evaluate and refine their own processes through direct observation and dialogue. 


By studying Malaysia's approach, the team aims to bring back actionable recommendations that could strengthen Nigeria's legislative environment. 


Officials noted that this initiative not only builds capacity but also opens doors for ongoing partnerships, ensuring Nigeria's parliament remains dynamic and responsive to national needs.
