TARABA APC YOUTH STAKEHOLDERS FORUM MEETS STATE CHAIRMAN AMIDST STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENTS; PARTY CHAIRMAN DECLARES READINESS TO RECEIVE GOV KEFAS INTO APC
Yesterday, 15th October 2025, the Taraba State All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Stakeholders Forum paid a courtesy visit to the Taraba State APC Chairman, Mallam Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi Esq. He warmly welcomed the youth delegation and expressed his gratitude for choosing him as their first point of call.
The visit was in furtherance to their meeting held on Sunday 12th, 2025 in Abuja, to engage the party’s elite stakeholders in order to ascertain and brainstorm on several matters. During the meeting, several youth speakers advocated for inclusivity of young minds in the activities of the party. Hon Abdulrazaq Liman, Talban Matasa opened the meeting by introducing all the members and setting the agenda for discussions properly. Hon Abdulrazaq highlighted for digestion matters that touch on party unity across all boards, youth inclusivity, state of the party and clarity on the news of the decamping of Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas to the APC.
Hon. Adi Useni, Senior Legislative aide to Senator David Jimkuta of Taraba South spoke on the need for youth cohesiveness. He mentioned that “ Taraba APC youths are united and ready to advance the courses of the party.”He further reiterated that “under the auspices of Taraba APC Youth Stakeholders Forum, young people have decided to take the front seat in matters that affects us” Hon Adi explained to the state party chairman the need to capture and effectively carry the youth wing of the party serious.
Speaking further, Hon. Paabu Ishaya Naneto spoke about reward system to the youths who are the fulcrum of the party. Paabu particularly, mentioned to the chairman that “ the Forum have intentions to intensify it outreach to various elders and stakeholders of the party in order to harmonize and consolidate on the subject matters of unity, youth reward system and collate views on the issue of decamping of Gov Kefas.
Furthermore, Hon. Umul Khultum Yusuf who holds the party flag for AMAC councilorship, City center ward stressed on the need for more young female involvement in the party. She stated that “the party should encourage participation of young women and youths in general.” Also the APC candidate for Ibi LGA chairmanship elections, Hon. Ibrahim Habu Mohammed Esq, juxtaposed on the party’s attentiveness to the forthcoming elections.
Responding to all the questions and concerns of the youth, Chairman El-Sudi took a memory lane. He reflected on the 2019 and 2023 general elections, sharing valuable insights and experiences that have transpired. The party leader, encouraged the youths to intensify it outreach capturing all stakeholders and elders.
Addressing the ongoing speculations about the possible defection of the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, to the APC, the Chairman stated that while some stakeholders had called on him to resist the governor’s entry, he refused. “No one has officially contacted me regarding the governor’s move,” he said, “but from reliable sources, I understand that consultations are ongoing—and that is acceptable to me.”
He emphasized the importance of openness and inclusivity in building the party. He further assured the youth that if he is given the opportunity to meet with Governor Kefas and confirm his defection, he would pose a crucial question: “How do you plan to carry APC youth along in your government, especially considering that you already have your own youth supporters before joining the party?”
He made it clear that he would wholeheartedly welcome the Executive Governor into the APC once the move is confirmed. On rumors surrounding a potential dissolution of the Taraba State APC executive, Chairman El-Sudi referenced similar situations in Delta and Akwa Ibom States, where party structures were retained. He affirmed that if the APC National Working Committee (NWC) decides to restructure the Taraba APC leadership, he would accept the decision in good faith, without resentment.
In his concluding remarks, Chairman El-Sudi congratulated Ummul Kulsum Yusuf A. Yusuf for emerging as the APC councillorship candidate for AMAC. He further announced that a campaign team will be set up to support her candidacy and ensure her success at the polls, assuring her of the party’s full backing.
