TARABA APC YOUTH STAKEHOLDERS MEET IN ABUJA TO FORGE UNITY AND POLITICAL RELEVANCE

​Youth stakeholders from Taraba State convened for their second meeting in Abuja, establishing a platform focused on fostering collective unity and driving youth engagement in the state’s political and development landscape.


The session, which began with opening prayers led by THE MAYOR, JOHNFUSEH (Christian) and Hon. Abdulrazak Liman, Talban of Taraba (Muslim), highlighted a determination to overcome divisions and collaboratively advance the interests of Taraba's young population.


Hon. Marwan Gambo led the reintroduction of members, stressing that the core purpose of the gathering was to unite and ensure all Taraba youths are included in a collective agenda.


​The central theme of the deliberation revolved around the need for collective unity among youths across all boards to achieve something tangible for the good people of Taraba State.


Hon. Talban Liman underscored the gravity of the mission, stating, "If you don't unite as youth, you will have yourself to blame." Paabu Ishaya Naneto, Fahad Ahmed sule, Khalid Harris Haruna,SLA Adi from Wukari and others Participants agreed that the time has come to speak with "one voice" and that youths must stop seeing each other as competitors. 


This unity is crucial, particularly in supporting fellow youths who secure political tickets, even those who were former political opponents, to show a cohesive front.


​Key contributors to the discussion emphasized the need for a paradigm shift in youth political participation, moving beyond what was described as "chicken change politics of money." Hon. Fanuel Lawrence urged attendees to "value yourself, and empower yourself as a youths," stressing that sincerity of purpose and putting the interest of all Taraba youths first are fundamental to achieving their collective agenda.


The meeting also recognized the immense power of new media as a natural space for youths to drive political agendas, positioning young people as the "engine room" and "transformer to politics" in both Taraba and Nigeria.


​In his contribution, Hon. Barr. Ibrahim Habu Ibi, an aspirant for Ibbi Chairman, noted that every youth has a responsibility and task to bring change and development to the state. 


The meeting concluded with Marwan Gambo's appreciation for the federal government's appointment of a Taraba son in a key area, while also urging the president to consider more youths for leadership roles to ensure they become relevant in the national space.


The final consensus was a call to shun personal interests and to rise up with a standard and a unified voice to effect the desired change.
