‎The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign running from 25th November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10th December (Human Rights Day).


‎The Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Ondo State will be joining  stakeholders globally to raise awareness, strengthening prevention systems, and advocate for an end to all forms of GBV.


‎The campaign theme for this year is ( Ending Digital Violence Against Women and Girls). The Advocacy Campaign will be 

‎Featuring  :

*Advocacy Campaign Launch & Press Briefing

*Stakeholders Engagements & Outreach,

*Medical/Counselling /Legal Services for Victims& Referral Pathways, *Enhanced Capacity building and improved awareness on social media


‎OBJECTIVES

‎

‎1. To create awareness on the prevalence and impact of gender-based violence in Ondo State .

‎

‎2. To strengthen community structures and reporting mechanisms for GBV.

‎

‎3. To engage key stakeholders—traditional rulers, CSOs, security agencies, schools, and community leaders—in coordinated GBV response.

‎

‎4. To promote policies and practices that protect women, girls, and vulnerable persons.

‎

‎5. To mobilize citizens to take collective action against GBV 

‎

Police – Amotekun Face Off : Nine Officers Seriously Injured, Hospitalized In Ondo As G3,Ak 47 Guns Used Freely It was a tense situation and unimaginable altercation between operatives of the Ondo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps, and men of the Nigeria Police Force on Sunday afternoon following a disagreement over the custody of a suspect linked to a stolen motorcycle.
