OWO AGLOW: HON. ADELEGBE FLAGS OFF 3,000 SOLAR STREET LIGHTS TO ENHANCE SAFETY & COMMUNITY LIFE 







Hon. Adelegbe Flags Off Distribution of 3,000 Solar Street Lights in Owo




The Owo Township Stadium in Ondo State was filled to capacity on Thursday afternoon as the lawmaker representing Owo and Ose Federal Constituency, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, flagged off the distribution of 3,000 solar-powered streetlights to communities, religious centres, schools, and palaces across his constituency.


According to Hon. Adelegbe, the solar light project was conceived as part of his commitment to illuminate communities, enhance security, and curb criminal activities within the constituency.


The initiative, he said, aims to ensure that no community within Owo and Ose remains in darkness.


Representing Hon. Adelegbe at the flag-off ceremony, the immediate past Chief of Staff to the Ondo State Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale, described the project as a worthwhile initiative and a major step toward discouraging criminal activities. He noted that this initiative will light up communities and make them more  safer, adding that the project reflects Adelegbe’s passion for grassroots development.


Chief Ale praised the lawmaker for his vision, stating that the solar light distribution is a testament to Adelegbe’s developmental approach one that prioritizes safety, accessibility, and the general well-being of the people.


Also speaking at the event, Chief Jamiu Ekungba commended Hon. Adelegbe’s numerous empowerment programs and community-based projects.


He noted that the lawmaker’s impact can be seen “in the palaces of monarchs, schools, churches, and mosques across the constituency,” emphasizing that Adelegbe’s representation has brought tangible development to Owo and Ose.


In his remarks, Hon. Dennis Alonge expressed satisfaction with the initiative and urged beneficiaries to ensure proper maintenance of the solar lights so that they can serve their intended purpose for years to come.


Similarly, Chief Balogun, the APC Chairman of Owo Local Government, lauded Hon. Adelegbe for his outstanding performance, saying that he has “shown how productive and rewarding effective representation in the House of Representatives can be.”


Chief Padi Tenabe also praised Adelegbe for his contributions to the community and the party, describing him as “a leader worthy of emulation.”


In his prayers for the lawmaker, Sheikh Yunus Anola, the Chief Imam of Owo Kingdom, described Hon. Adelegbe as a “man of light” and prayed that the light he has brought to the constituency continues to shine brighter.


Dignitaries in attendance included Chief Olugbenga Ale, Hon. Eni Omosule, Chief Jimoh Dojumo, Barr. Olawoye, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, the Chief Imam of Owo Kingdom Sheikh Yunus Anola, Royal Fathers from Owo and Ose Local Governments, and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Olowo of Owo, Oba Ebenezer Ogunmolasuyi Olupenmen, was represented at the event.


The solar-powered streetlight distribution project is one of Hon. Adelegbe’s many community development initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, promoting safety, and enhancing the quality of life for residents across Owo and Ose Federal Constituency.
