SENATOR ADEGBONMIRE BRINGS LIGHT BACK TO ISOKAN COMMUNITY


... He Is A Man Of The People - Residents



For the people of Odanikin, Ayalodi and Ajimokun in the Isokan Community of Akure South Local Government Area, Ondo State, light has become more than electricity. It is now a symbol of hope, gratitude and renewed faith in leadership.


At their monthly meeting, residents spoke with deep emotion as they described the lawmaker representing Ondo Central in the National Assembly, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire (SAN), as a man of the people, a title earned through action, not words.


According to the community chairman, Mr. Temitope Olosu, the people had been thrown into darkness since August 27, when vandals destroyed the community’s only transformer panel. For weeks, they made frantic efforts, reaching out to government agencies, BEDC and individuals. But all led to dead ends.


Olosu said: “Among everyone we contacted, only Senator Adegbonmire responded. When we first told him about our plight, he asked for the cost of repair and promised to help. Honestly, we thought it was just another political promise. But he proved us wrong. He kept his word.”


With the senator’s timely intervention, the vandalized transformer panel was repaired and power restored, lighting up homes, shops and hearts across the community.


“His support didn’t just bring back electricity. It restored our faith that true leaders still exist. This singular act will forever remain in the history of Isokan Community,” the chairman declared. 


In appreciation, the community pledged continued support for the senator, praying for strength and greater success in his mission to uplift the people of Ondo Central.


The immediate past Chairman of the community, Mr. Clement Fapohunda, echoed the sentiment, saying: “Senator Adegbonmire is the first politician in our history to come to our aid. He is a man of his word, a man of the people.”


Beyond expressing gratitude, the community appealed for further assistance, including the installation of solar-powered streetlights to help curb criminal activities and enhance safety at night.
