One of the barometer for federal legislators performance index is seen in the quantum of intervention, and empowerment schemes they pull to their constituency. Beyond sitting in the red chambers, Senator Jimkuta has carved a model in leadership and raised the bar of public office.
Unarguably, he has in two years eclipsed his colleagues in the state and predecessors alike in the art of empowerments and strategic intervention.
His targeted intervention in the areas of Education sector and Southern Taraba Empowerment Programs has instilled a new vista of performance indicator for public office holders.
Known for his sterling contributions to subsidize education, Senator Jimkuta has consistently offset JAMB registrations for students across the nooks and crannies of Southern Taraba, a program that annually cost millions.
Analysts say, this freewill gesture offers opportunity to the poorest of the poor to take a shot at greatness.
Beyond this, the first term legislator has routinely provided scholarship interventions for undergraduate students of Southern Taraba extraction.
His first shot in this regard was a N20 Million intervention to students of Kwararafa University who were hitherto unable to proceed for their National Youth Service Corp program due to backlog of school fees.
Just like the morning breeze, Senator Jimkuta eased their travails and the rest is history now.
Continuing his miracles in the education sector, Senator Jimkuta recently raised the bar. In September, as a first termer he sponsored 40 students from Southern Taraba cutting across different backgrounds, religion and ethnicity to study STEM courses in India, a maiden gesture in the annals of Southern Taraba.
That was beyond political benevolence, it was a generational commitment to set his constituency on the world map and also integrate our people into the global demand of priority studies — STEM explorations.
Added to his score card too was the renovation and remodeling of the Wukari Divisional Library to standard grade.
His projects cut across every sector and every demography, reinforcing a legacy that is both inclusive and enduring.
More fascinating is the fact that Senator Jimkuta has recently as few weeks ago dolled out a humongous sum of N200 Million to open up a scholarship program peopled by reputable stakeholders in our educational sectors.
He aim to greatly offset, assist and provide tuition fee support to students of Southern Taraba in high institutions.
Education they say is the bedrock of every society, his educational interventions have renovated library, awarded scholarships, and rekindled hope in future generations.
Interestingly, the performing senator has also made impacts and inroads in other areas of life too.
Through his initiative termed Southern Taraba Empowerment Program, Senator Jimkuta has uplifted lots of his constituents with sources of livelihood, alleviating poverty and building confidence among the youths.
Commenced in March and held again in September of this year the Senator has distributed life changing equipments such as grinding machines, motorcycles, tricycles, fridges, sewing machines and Cars to the tune of N3 Billion.
This excludes the many farm implements such as hand tractors, fertilizers and insecticides Southern Tarabans have enjoyed through Senator Jimkuta’s routine agricultural initiative to boost farming.
Senator Jimkuta has continued to silence his naysayers, beating all odds even as a newbie in the red chambers.
More-so that, in two years the developmental projects he attracted to Southern Taraba has placed him in a competitive edge.
Today, the issue of light within the corridor of Wukari - Kente has been addressed, work has began to connect the entire stretch of villages on that axis to the national grid. A N600 Million worth of project lobbied by Senator Jimkuta.
It is no wonder, the name Distinguished Senator David S.U Jimkuta has been ringing not only in Southern Taraba but across the state.
Respected, admired, and deeply trusted, Jimkuta has now become a symbol of people-first leadership.
From Wukari to Takum, Donga-to Ussa, and Ibi in Taraba South, his impact is unmistakable – shaping lives, building communities, and redefining representation.
His name now stands for purposeful governance, compassionate service, and bold development.
