FROM ORIENTATION TO OPPORTUNITY: A LEGISLATIVE AIDES JOURNEY THROUGH MENTORSHIP AND SERVICE

​Following the induction of the 10th National Assembly orientation program at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja, a new chapter has officially begun.


Led by distinguished figures such as the Executive Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission, Chief Dr. Saviour Enyiekere, and the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, the training focused on the essential pillars of governance: strategic communication, speech writing, and the leadership required to support our nation lawmakers.



​While the day marked a formal transition into the high-stakes world of federal policy, it also served as a profound reminder of the power of mentorship.


​Beyond the lectures and administrative protocols, I took the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to a man I hold in the highest esteem: my mentor and "major helper," Baba Larry.


Baba Larry is A figure who consistently avoids the limelight, Baba Larry has been a steadying force in my life since my transition from NTA TVC Jos to the nation capital.


​His support has been both practical and protective.


I remember vividly when I graduated from NTA TVC Jos; he reached out personally, inviting me to his Maitama office where he honored my achievement with a generous graduation gift. 


More importantly, during times when my political vocalization and criticism of my state leadership grew intense, he was the voice of wisdom, calling to check on my safety and advising me to navigate the political landscape with care.


​Today, that mentorship took a transformative turn. 


In a display of genuine trust, Baba Larry leveraged his personal network to advocate for my professional future.


Earlier this afternoon, He personally escorted me to the office of a high-ranking associate, offering a glowing recommendation.


Baba, spoke of my resourcefulness and intelligence with such sincerity that I was moved to tears.


​Baba Larry is a man of quiet impact. He does not seek publicity or praise, often asking that his kindness remain behind the scenes.


However, I felt it was essential to break that silence today. His gesture was more than just a networking opportunity; it was a testament to the power of "sponsorship"—having someone willing to put their own reputation on the line to open doors for another.


​To Baba Larry: Thank you for your unwavering trust, your protective guidance, and for believing in me even when I was just starting out.


I am deeply honored to have you in my corner as I embark on this journey in service to our country.


Thank you so much for all you do sir.
