FROM SCARCITY TO SIGNIFICANCE: A MINDSET SHIFT ON THE JOURNEY TO GREATNESS

By Fuseh Markus

Before connecting with my spiritual mentor, Pastor Jeff Daniel, my interactions with "great men" were framed by a limited, scarcity-driven mindset.

As an American citizen hailing from Taraba State and a proud Jukun son, Pastor Jeff was, to me, primarily an access point to foreign currency. I vividly recall the mindset: whenever he was in Nigeria, the thought dominating my mind was how I could get him to give me dollars lol 😆🤣. Don't laugh me abeg 😂

This narrow focus—this hunger for money instead of mentorship, was a real barrier for me, i was still in school then also.

I was close to greatness in proximity, but worlds away in mindset. My whole perspective changed during his last trip to Nigeria, starting with a powerful prophetic word spoken into my life during a meeting in Jos.

The true transformation, however, solidified during an almost two-hour private session with him in his Abuja hotel room just a few months ago. It was in that hotel room he poured deep prophetic and revelational words, alongside profound wisdom, into my life.

Pastor Jeff shared three pivotal revelations concerning our Jukun clan, particularly about things that can build or destroy men. I will only share one publicly—the critical importance of foundation.

The other two I hold closely to be shared selectively with young people around me.

However, beyond the deep spiritual insight, one piece of wisdom stands out and continues to guide my life: "He said, Don't and never be chicken out in life because of opportunity.

When opportunity comes, don't be desperate and be quick to chicken out. Apply wisdom in everything you do." He reminded me that God will continue to grant me access to relevant places of influence, but I must never retreat due to the pressure or allure of a fleeting opportunity. Sound deep right? How i wish young people can understand this 😕.

This is the essence of true mentorship—a transformation of internal value, replacing the pursuit of a quick handout with the hunger for enduring wisdom.

Pastor Jeff Daniel, the Senior Pastor of Kingdom Light Church Intl in Arlington, Texas, USA, is not just a finest Jukun son; he is a phenomenal teacher whose voice is essential for anyone seeking spiritual and personal growth.

My encounter with him moved me from a mindset of collecting to a mindset of connecting and cultivating wisdom.

I’ve cut this short, as a longer article on this life-altering encounter is surely due. But for today, allow me to simply declare: Happy Birthday to him, Dad Sir, God loves you. Many hearty cheers 🌷🍷🫡
