In the National Assembly complex, ​Abuja, Nigeria—The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Assembly (NASS) Chapel, Comrade Abdulkadir Sarafadeen Msc, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Ambassador Olatunji Ahmed Sulu Gambari following his successful screening by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. 


Ambassador Gambari, a distinguished career ambassadorial nominee put forward by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to bring his extensive diplomatic experience to bear on Nigeria international relations.


The seasoned diplomat, who has been representing the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the National Assembly complex, is a public figure with a remarkably traceable biography, hailing from the esteemed Sulu Gambari royal family in the Ilorin Emirate of Kwara State.


​The screening process, which affirmed Ambassador Gambari suitability for the role, saw strong support from the Senate.


Notably, the distinguished Senator Saliu Mustapha, who shares the same home state and senatorial district with the nominee, passionately vouched for his candidacy and urged his clearance.


Other distinguished Senators and members of the committee joined Senator Mustapha in commending and clearing Ambassador Gambari as a career Ambassador.


The NUJ NASS Chapel Chairman, Comrade Sarafadeen, in his congratulatory message, emphasized that Ambassador Gambari will undoubtedly contribute his wealth of experience to the nation diplomatic efforts on the international stage.


​Comrade Sarafadeen lauded President Ahmed Tinubu selection, stating that the President displayed remarkable foresight in nominating Ahmed Gambari for this crucial Ambassadorial position.


The chairman expressed confidence that Ambassador Gambari successful tenure will mark a significant stride in enhancing Nigeria diplomatic engagements and influence globally.
