ABEGUNDE, ABENA DONATES 100 MILLION NAIRA TOWARDS FUTATH PROJECT 








Asiwaju of Akure Kingdom Ifedayo Abegunde donated significant financial support towards~ strengthening healthcare infrastructure, following a major donation aimed at advancing the  teaching hospital linked to Federal University of Technology Akure.


The gesture has been widely described by community leaders as a milestone in ongoing efforts to improve medical education and access to quality health services across Ondo State.


Honourable Ifedayo Abegunde, Abena, announced the donation of one hundred million naira during a high-profile gathering of respected indigenes and stakeholders committed to local development initiatives under the banner of Akure Inner Circle.


The meeting drew notable sons and daughters of the ancient town who collectively contributed funds and pledged continued advocacy to ensure the realisation of a functional teaching hospital capable of serving both students and the wider population.


Speaking during the event, Abegunde emphasised that the establishment and growth of the teaching hospital remain a central aspiration of the people, noting that modern healthcare facilities are essential to regional development and economic stability.


He stated that his support was driven by a strong sense of duty to the community and reiterated his readiness to collaborate with partners and relevant authorities in pursuit of sustainable progress.


Abegunde also said, he is doing this inline with the ideology of his political leader and mentor President Bola Tinubu who has done so much for Akure land and Ondo State.


The Chairman Committee in charge of the project Dr Olufemi Oyinsan and the Chairman of Sub committee on finance took turns to thank Abegunde for being a good leader and also praised President Bola Tinubu for giving capable persons from Akure strategic roles in his government.


Other attendees at the meeting echoed similar sentiments, stressing that collective investment from private citizens complements governmental efforts in bridging gaps within the healthcare sector. 


Contributors highlighted the importance of transparent management, long-term planning, and strong institutional partnerships to ensure that the envisioned facility becomes a centre of excellence in medical training, research, and specialised treatment.


Observers have described the initiative as a promising step towards strengthening health infrastructure in Nigeria, where teaching hospitals play a crucial role in training future medical professionals.


Community leaders expressed optimism that continued unity among stakeholders would accelerate construction and operational milestones, ultimately improving healthcare delivery while reinforcing Akure’s reputation as a hub for educational and professional advancement.
