OSSAA Clarifies Enforcement Procedures: Urges Compliance and Constructive Engagement
OSSAA CLARIFIES ENFORCEMENT PROCEDURES: URGES COMPLIANCE AND CONSTRUCTIVE ENGAGEMENT
Official Statement
Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSAA)
The Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency finds it necessary to address recent public comments regarding its enforcement activities within the State.
As a lawful agency of government, OSSAA carries out a statutory mandate aimed at protecting public safety, preserving environmental order, and ensuring fairness for all operators within the signage and advertisement space across Ondo State. Our enforcement processes are structured, transparent, and guided strictly by law and established procedures.
Where a structure is identified as non-compliant, the process for resolution is simple and civil: the owner or representative is expected to visit the Agency’s office with all relevant approval documents or valid permits for clarification. This pathway exists to guarantee fairness, accountability, and due process.
In this regard, we kindly urge Mr. John Kollyns to engage the Agency formally and present verifiable evidence of approvals or permits for the structure in question. If such documentation exists, the appropriate administrative review will be conducted promptly and professionally.
Harassment, confrontation, or obstruction of duly authorized officers performing their statutory duties does not resolve compliance matters. Our officers are professionals representing an institution not individuals acting on personal interest. When they are obstructed in the course of duty, it affects the integrity of the system put in place to ensure equal treatment for all.
The law does not discriminate based on status, familiarity, or public sentiment. It applies uniformly and without prejudice. That principle of equality is fundamental to maintaining order and public trust.
OSSAA remains committed to dialogue, fairness, and responsible enforcement. Our doors remain open for lawful and constructive engagement at all times.
Signed
