Celebrating a legacy of selfless contribution and cultural pride, Rear Admiral Godfrey Enoch Kwetishe (Rtd) has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the development of the Kuteb people and the service of humanity.

Speaking at the prestigious 2026 Abuja Kuchicheb Award & Gala Night, hosted by the Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria (KYN) FCT Chapter, the decorated naval officer emphasized that his recognition is not a final milestone, but a catalyst for further action.

"Giving to one’s people and humanity is a call that resonates for everyone," the Admiral noted during his moving goodwill message at the Women Development Center.

"As long as there is life, I am going to do more; when you give in life, you position yourself to truly receive."

The high-octane event, held at the Banquet Hall of the Women Development Center, served as a vibrant crossroads of tradition and excellence.

The atmosphere was electrified by the rhythmic displays of Ichen, Tiv, and Kuteb cultural troupes, symbolizing the rich heritage and inter-ethnic harmony of the region.

The gala attracted a distinguished gathering of the Kuteb elite from across the federation and the Abuja metropolis, underscoring the unity and growing influence of the Kuteb nation.

Beyond the festivities, the night focused on honoring those who have paved the way for communal progress, casting a spotlight on the collective strength of the Kuteb sons and daughters.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of merit awards to a galaxy of prominent leaders, including legal luminaries, seasoned technocrats, and high-ranking military officers.

Alongside Rear Admiral Kwetishe, notable awardees included AIG Hosea Karma, Barr. Yusuf Nya Akirikwen, Brig. Gen. Yusuf Mbafung, Hon. Dr. Michael Magaji, and KYN BOT Chairman Elder Ibrahim Jauro, among other distinguished figures like Barr. Danladi Kifasi.

In a final, stirring appeal to the audience, Admiral Kwetishe urged all present to remain steadfast in their support for human development and communal growth, reminding the congregation that the true measure of success lies in the upliftment of others.
