FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES IN NASC HONOR MRS. CANDIDA ADEBUKOLA ESAN AT JOYOUS RETIREMENT AND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

​Friends and colleagues of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) community gathered in high spirits yesterday morning at the Kubwa residence of Mrs. Candida Adebukola Esan to celebrate her meritorious retirement and birthday.




The dual-purpose event drew an esteemed assembly of Directors, Deputy Directors, and staff across all cadres, who came together to honor the distinguished career of a woman described as a pillar of the Department of Public Affairs. Although Mrs. Esan officially completed her service on March 11, 2026, her peers organized this reception to ensure her transition into this new chapter was marked with the professional acclaim and personal warmth she richly deserves.


The ceremony commenced with heartfelt opening prayers led by Mr. Dele Adeniyi and Hajiya Rukaya Audu, setting a spiritual and reflective tone for the morning.

​In his opening remarks, the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Anyigor, mnipr, lauded Mrs. Esan as a "semi-pioneer" of the National Assembly. He emphasized that her contributions were vital to the growth of the Commission.


​"We thank God for her life and the huge contributions she has made," Mr. Anyigor stated, describing her as an inspirational leader. He further prayed that her retirement years would be "ten times better" than her time in service, characterizing her departure as the opening of a "new, glorious door."


The atmosphere was enriched by glowing testimonials from colleagues, including Mr. David Simpa, who praised Mrs. Esan’s transparent and approachable nature. Speakers consistently highlighted several key attributes of her professional character.


As a tangible symbol of their high esteem, the Department of Public Affairs—in collaboration with other departments and friends—presented Mrs. Esan with a commemorative glass frame and a cash gift of ₦800,000. These gifts were raised through a dedicated platform created by her peers to celebrate her enduring legacy.


Visibly moved by the outpouring of affection, Mrs. Candida Adebukola Esan expressed her profound gratitude to the Directors and the entire NASC staff for their unwavering support. In her final charge to those still in service, she urged her colleagues to remain patient and dedicated to their duties.


​"Everything in life is a gift from God," she reminded the gathering, ending her tenure on a note of humility and faith.

​The celebration concluded with a collective sense of accomplishment, honoring a career defined by integrity, camaraderie, and an unwavering commitment to public service excellence.
