TAFIDA LAUDS SEDC LEADERSHIP MILESTONES, URGES STRATEGIC CAUTION IN POLICY FORMULATION

Hon. Sadiq Abbas Tafida, the member representing Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has formally commended the Managing Director of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) for the transformative strides achieved during his early tenure.

In a statement reflecting on the Commission recent trajectory, Hon. Tafida praised the MD leadership for its "uncommon enthusiasm" and forward-looking approach, noting that the energy brought to the office has been instrumental in revitalizing the mandate of the institution and addressing the unique developmental hurdles of the region.

The lawmaker highlighted the MD's clear passion for service as a vital catalyst for the progress recorded so far, describing the current administration efforts as both bold and necessary.

Hon. Tafida observed that such dedicated leadership is essential for regional bodies tasked with high-stakes infrastructure and socio-economic mandates.

Hon. Abbas noted that the commitment demonstrated by the SEDC leadership serves as a positive benchmark for institutional productivity, signaling a proactive era for the Commission and its stakeholders.

However, while celebrating these achievements, Hon. Tafida balanced his commendation with a call for strategic deliberation in the next phase of the Commission's work.

He advised that policy ideation must be approached with a deep sense of caution and sensitivity to the complex realities of the populace. Stressing the importance of inclusivity and long-term sustainability, the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing representative urged the SEDC leadership to prioritize wide-ranging consultations to ensure that every well-intentioned initiative remains practical, durable, and beneficial to all.
