The Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Adeniyi Adegbonmire SAN, has continued his wide consultations and grassroots engagement ahead of the upcoming APC Senatorial Primaries with a strategic campaign tour across Ondo East and Ondo West Local Government Areas of Ondo State.

The lawmaker, popularly known as OMO EKUN, was received by enthusiastic party faithful, community leaders, youths and women groups who trooped out in large numbers to reaffirm their support for his second term ambition under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

As part of the consultation tour, Senator Adegbonmire also paid a courtesy visit to former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, where issues relating to the development of Ondo State and the progress of Ondo Central Senatorial District were discussed.

Addressing party supporters and constituents during the tour, Adegbonmire expressed confidence that the people of Ondo Central would once again renew his mandate in 2027 based on his track record of effective representation, quality legislation and impactful constituency projects.

The distinguished senator noted that despite being a first-time senator, he broke political barriers by emerging as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, a highly strategic committee in the National Assembly.

According to him, the feat was a reflection of his competence, legislative experience and the confidence reposed in him by the leadership of the Senate.

Adegbonmire stressed that returning him to the Senate for a second term and making him a ranking senator would accelerate development across Ondo Central, noting that ranking lawmakers attract more influence, federal presence and developmental opportunities to their constituencies.

He highlighted several achievements recorded during his first term in office, including the installation of solar-powered street lights across communities in Ondo Central, empowerment programmes for youths and women, scholarship interventions for students, facilitation of employment opportunities for constituents, support for small scale businesses and sponsorship of people-oriented bills at the Senate.

The senator also referenced his contributions to constitutional amendment debates, electoral reforms and legal sector advancement, adding that his voice has remained prominent in national discourse and legislative engagements.

Speaking further, Adegbonmire assured constituents that his second term would consolidate on the gains already recorded, promising more infrastructural projects, improved federal presence and continuous representation that prioritizes the welfare of the people.

Leaders and stakeholders across the two local governments commended the senator for maintaining close ties with the grassroots and applauded his performance at the National Assembly, describing him as a worthy ambassador of Ondo Central Senatorial District.

The campaign tour ended with renewed assurances from party leaders, youths and women groups that Ondo Central remains solidly behind the re-election bid of Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire ahead of the 2027 elections.
