Adegbonmire Clinches APC Senatorial Ticket for Ondo Central, Signals Fresh Chapter

The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially confirmed Senator Adeniyi Ayodele Adegbonmire SAN as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Ondo Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election.


The announcement, long awaited by supporters who have followed his political journey closely, formally ends months of positioning and puts him on the ballot as the party's standard bearer for the seat.


For a man who has quietly built a reputation as a grassroots mobiliser and public servant, the confirmation carries weight beyond the paperwork. It validates years of engagement across the towns and communities that make up the Ondo Central axis, from Akure to the surrounding districts, where his name has become associated with consistent presence rather than election season visits alone.


His victory reflects a candidacy built on structure and process rather than shortcuts, a detail his supporters have been quick to point to as evidence of a man who respects institutions even as he seeks to lead within one.


Beyond the symbolism of the ticket itself, this fresh mandate offers Senator Adegbonmire another opportunity to consolidate on the achievements recorded during his first term in the senate. It gives him room to build further on the legislative work and constituency projects already underway, and to deepen the trust that earned him the confidence of the people of Ondo Central in the first place.
