"Overview of Hon. Festus Adefiranye’s Constituency Empowerment Program"

Event: Grassroots Empowerment Programme


In a remarkable display of grassroots development and commitment to community upliftment, Hon. Festus Adefiranye, the Honourable Member Representing Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, hosted a comprehensive empowerment programme in the ancient city of Okeigbo on May 25, 2025.


Overview of the Programme


The empowerment event witnessed the distribution of a wide range of livelihood-enhancing equipment to beneficiaries carefully selected from all the 21 wards within the constituency. Items distributed included:


Motorcycles 



Deep Freezers



Grinding Machines



Generators



Sewing Machines



Agricultural Equipment





The event was well attended by community leaders, party stalwarts, youth leaders, women groups, and other stakeholders from across the federal constituency.


In his keynote address, Hon. Festus Adefiranye expressed profound appreciation to all party leaders, stakeholders, and constituents for their unwavering support for his mandate and legislative efforts. He reaffirmed his dedication to sustainable empowerment, noting that the event is just one of many initiatives in his constituency development agenda.







He pledged that more “mouth-watering empowerments” in the form of cash grants and additional material support would be rolled out as the year progresses, aiming to alleviate poverty and stimulate economic activity at the grassroots.


Hon. Festus Adefiranye also took the opportunity to enumerate some of his achievements in office, reflecting his active engagement in legislative advocacy and developmental projects:


1. Motion for the Dualisation of the Akure-Ondo-Ore Road:


He successfully moved a motion which has led to the commencement of massive construction work on this strategic federal road Akure-Ondo-Ore that connects several key communities and enhances trade and mobility.


2. Bill for the Establishment of the College of Nursing and Midwifery:


This bill, which has passed through legislative stages, is awaiting Presidential assent and is expected to boost healthcare training and service delivery in our Federal Constituency.


3. Motion for the renovation of  Revitalisation on NNPC Ore Depot.


4. 250-Capacity Tech Hub Construction:


An ongoing project aimed at empowering youths with digital skills and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the constituency.


5. 40-Bed Capacity Federal General Hospital:


Currently under construction, this healthcare facility is poised to improve access to quality medical care for residents of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo and its environs.


6. A total of 4km Road network in Ore, Okeigbo and Ile-oluji.

7. Solar powered Street lights in all 21 wards of Ile-oluji/Okeigbo Odigbo Federal Constituency.

8. Installation and connection of Idimango community of Ore in Odigbo local Government electricity after 16 years of total darkness.


All these in his first two years in office.


The empowerment programme was not only a testament to Hon. Adefiranye’s dedication to the welfare of his constituents but also an embodiment of effective representation. The initiative has been widely commended for its inclusiveness, scale, and alignment with the pressing needs of the people.


Hon. Adefiranye reaffirmed his resolve to continue attracting federal presence and executing impactful policies that will positively affect the lives of his constituents, especially in the areas of infrastructure, education, healthcare,Women and youth development.
