HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RIGHT HON. MARK BAKO USENI, PhD

Every morning, I wake up with a prayer in my heart: "God bless Mark Useni." It’s a ritual born out of gratitude for a man who has been a beacon of kindness and opportunity in my life. After My journey as a journalist in the classrooms of NTA TVC Jos to the bustling corridors of ARISE News at Transcorp Hilton Abuja as an interns, and eventually NASSNEWS in abuja, where I leaned on a few connections and the generosity of a good friend to find my footing.


It was during this time that I reached out to Hon. Mark Bako Useni, a man whose name is synonymous with selflessness. When I called to visit, he was already traveling for an official assignment, but he asked that i should come to his house, also, he took the time to ask where I was staying. Upon learning I was managing with a friend, he insisted I move into one of his houses. I laughed, hesitant to impose on a man so admired by many, but he brushed off my concerns with a hearty laugh and handed me a substantial sum to secure an apartment in Abuja. 


That moment marked the beginning of a relationship that has transformed my life. 


Hon. Mark Useni’s generosity extends far beyond that day. He has opened doors I never imagined, recommending me to prominent figures and treating me like a son. 


When I landed a federal appointment through one of the country’s top influencers, it was Mark Useni I turned to for a recommendation letter, and as always, he delivered without hesitation. His office is a sanctuary, open to me even in his absence, a testament to his trust and warmth. 


Mark Useni is more than a leader; he is a rare gem, a man of great humor, simplicity, and open-mindedness, whose straightforwardness and jovial spirit light up any room. His life is a testament to hard work, dedication, and a commitment to uplifting others, making him a true Nigerian hero in every sense of the word.Today, as the Right Hon. Mark Bako Useni, PhD, celebrates another year, I join the host of heaven to honor this extraordinary man.


Sir, your life is like a book—a bestseller filled with inspiring stories and remarkable adventures.


As you mark this milestone, I pray for long life, prosperity, and God’s unending favor and goodness in perfect health. 


Your leadership, laced with humor and grace, continues to inspire countless others, and your legacy of kindness will echo for generations.


So, here’s to you, my incredible leader!


Let’s raise a glass to celebrate your remarkable journey, your unwavering spirit, and the countless lives you’ve touched.
