A New Dawn in Akure East: Governor Ayedatiwa’s Bold Infrastructure Push Transforms Oda and Surrounding Communities

Akure East LCDA Chairman Hails Governor’s Legacy of Development and Grassroots Leadership

The people of Akure East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) are celebrating a historic moment of transformation, as Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa brings a wave of economic, agricultural, social, and infrastructural development to the region—marking a pivotal milestone in the LCDA’s history.

Speaking on behalf of the council and its residents, the Chairman of Akure East LCDA, Barrister Kayode Taiwo Samson, LLM, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Ayedatiwa for his timely intervention in the rehabilitation, reconstruction, and asphalt surfacing of critical access roads across Oke Uro, Kajola, Ijigba, and Davog communities.

The commissioning of the newly reconstructed Oda Road—now likened to the “Lekki Corridor of Ondo State”—has not only enhanced mobility but also redefined the socio-economic landscape of the area. Equally noteworthy is the Governor’s approval of the rehabilitation of the Oke Uro–Kajola–Ijigba–Davog road network, a decision met with widespread joy and gratitude among locals.

“This is not just about roads; it is about dignity, progress, and hope restored,” Chairman Kayode said in a heartfelt statement. “Governor Ayedatiwa, your leadership has shown that development can reach every corner when the will to serve the people truly exists. We are proud of you.”

For years, these communities endured hardship as a result of crumbling road infrastructure, which limited access to essential services and hampered local commerce. Today, with visible signs of progress and the gorges that once endangered commuters being effectively addressed, residents are experiencing a renaissance in both confidence and community spirit.

In Ijigba, community elders, youth leaders, and traders gathered to thank the governor, describing his actions as “governance driven by compassion.” They noted that the reconstruction effort has not only made transportation safer but also revived economic activities that had long been stifled.

Barrister Kayode Taiwo Samson reaffirmed the council’s unwavering support for Governor Ayedatiwa’s administration, pledging continued collaboration to ensure the governor’s vision for a more prosperous Ondo State reaches every household.

“Your Excellency, you have written your name boldly in the history of Akure East,” he said. “Your swift response and commitment to grassroots transformation will be remembered for generations. The people stand with you—grateful, inspired, and hopeful.”

In conclusion, the LCDA chairman urged residents to partner with the government by maintaining a clean and safe environment, avoiding the obstruction of roads with structures or debris, and supporting ongoing development efforts with community responsibility.

As Akure East steps confidently into a new era, the legacy of action, compassion, and visionary leadership is already taking root—thanks to the transformative governance of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa
