From Waste to Wealth; A Collaborative Approach to Youth Empowerment and Environmental Sustainability












It was another remarkable day as I launched the Circular Economy Youth Empowerment Initiative for Climate Action (CEYEI), an initiative birthed by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development in partnership with SAMU and the Recyclers Association of Nigeria to train young people on how to turn waste into wealth.





The Nigerian economy is missing a valuable opportunity for economic growth and environmental sustainability. The Ministry of Youth Development is prepared to train millions of Nigerian youth on how to generate additional income through effective waste management while creating more job opportunities for young Nigerians.






This initiative aims to address the environmental dangers posed by the growing issue of improper waste management in the country. The CEYEI initiative will transform discarded materials into valuable resources, which will help reduce landfill waste and the need for resource extraction while promoting a circular economy. This approach minimizes environmental pollution, conserves natural resources, and creates economic opportunities.








I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unwavering commitment to youth development in Nigeria.
