IDANRE CELEBRATES ADEGBONMIRE'S SOLAR-POWERED BOREHOLE



...Senator has solved problem we thought would never end - Residents









For the people of Idimilokun Community in Alade-Idanre, Ondo State, a decades-long battle with water scarcity is finally nearing its end. 


The lawmaker representing Ondo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, has gifted the community a cutting-edge solar-powered borehole.


For years, residents have endured the daily hardship of searching for clean water, often walking long distances or relying on unsafe sources. 


But with this new facility, designed to provide a constant and eco-friendly water supply, hope has returned to the community.


The initiative, part of Adegbonmire’s broader commitment to sustainable development, has been met with an outpouring of gratitude. 


For Mr. Nicodemus Nwali, who has lived in Idimilokun for over 40 years, the moment is nothing short of divine intervention. 


“The Senator is God-sent. He has solved a problem we thought would never end,” Nwali said, beaming with joy.


Another resident, Mrs. Caroline Olutosoye, noted that the borehole would “wipe away the tears” of countless families who have suffered from the absence of clean water.


Deputy Chairman of Idale Lemikan Ward, Mr. Mayomi Akinsebikan, praised the senator’s leadership, calling him “a man who listens, understands and acts swiftly on the needs of his people.”


Community leader Mr. Clement Akinyeke highlighted the life-changing impact of the project, especially for women who bear the brunt of water scarcity during the dry season.


The APC Chairman in Idanre, Hon. Clement Olumide, described the gesture as a landmark achievement, revealing that more boreholes are planned for other communities in the area. 


Olumide said: “This is more than a project. It is a legacy.” 


Project supervisor, Mr. Olalekan Odere, gave assurance that the borehole would be fully operational within two weeks, promising residents a sustainable and reliable water source. 


The community, in turn, pledged to maintain the facility diligently to ensure it serves generations to come.


In Idimilokun, the sound of water now carries a new meaning, not just as a basic need, but as a symbol of hope, leadership and better future.
