Ondo State Thrives in Unity: No Room for Manufactured Conflict! By Dr. Seun Akinde
THERE IS NO “POLITICAL BROUHAHA” OR CONFLICT BETWEEN OUR GOVERNOR, DR. LUCKY AIYEDATIWA, AND HIS BROTHER, THE HON. MINISTER OF INTERIOR, DR. BUNMI TUNJI-OJO:
ONDO STATE NEEDS UNITY, PEACE, AND PROGRESS-NOT DIVISION
As a student of history and a custodian of facts, I have consistently maintained that Ondo State, being a peaceful state, does not need any form of disorderliness to achieve sustainable progress and the development we collectively desire.
As it stands today, there is no controversy whatsoever regarding leadership or the hierarchy of our political structure.
The APC, according to its supreme constitution, clearly recognizes the sitting Governor as the leader of the party in the state.
Therefore, I fail to understand why some individuals believe they can use their acts of personal aggrandizement to distort a well-established system by creating a non-existent conflict between our peace-loving Governor and his beloved brother, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The unity that defined Ondo State during the last governorship election-where our Governor and his Deputy recorded a historic 18–0 promax victory-was so unprecedented that other states admired our collective strength.
This unity is a precious asset that must be jealously protected.
His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has consistently emphasized that only God is supreme.
Through his leadership philosophy of fairness and inclusion, he has deliberately brought young, brilliant minds into governance, breaking long-standing barriers in Ondo State politics.
In less than eight months in office, as a democratically elected governor of ondo state, he has attracted investors across diverse sectors-including Agriculture, Petrochemical Industries, the Seaport project, Sustainable Energy, the Power sector, and Refinery development.
These are remarkable initiatives that deserve total support from all stakeholders.
Because once completed, Ondo State will be strategically placed on the global stage of commerce, investment, and industrial productivity.
As I have always emphasized, the interest of the Sunshine State must come first-before any personal or political considerations.
Likewise, when you observe the outstanding performance of the Hon. Minister of Interior, Dr. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Administration, you will agree with me that we are blessed as a people.
Without any form of sycophancy, we must be grateful to God for giving Ondo State an innovative, proactive, and highly productive minister who complements the “OUR EASE” mandate of our Governor, the Chief Security Officer and the Executive Governor of Ondo State.
Truth be told, Ondo State has not had it this good in national politics in a long while. Though we are not yet where we aspire to be, but, we have clearly moved far ahead of where we used to be.
I therefore appeal to our leaders across the 18 Local Government Areas to sheath their swords and allow the calm, settled waters of Ondo State to flow without needless interference.
2027 is a major project for our party, the APC.
Our collective focus should be on ensuring the resounding re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,GCFR, especially as the nation battles serious security challenges. We must be strategic, united, and forward-looking.
Let us allow the Governor to concentrate fully on the mandate freely given to him by 366,781 citizens and residents of the Sunshine State on November 16, 2024.
I am confident, without any ambiguity that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa will not let the good people of Ondo State down.
The great dreams and expectations of our heroes past-Late Pa Obafemi Awolowo, Pa Adekunle Ajasin, and our respected elder statesman Baba Reuben Fasoranti-shall find fulfillment under his leadership.
God bless Ondo State APC.
God bless the leadership of Ondo State.
God bless “Our Ease” Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
God bless Hon Minister of Interior, Dr Bunmi Tunji-Ojo
God bless Ondo State.
Ire o!
Dr. Seun Akinde
APC Chieftain, Ondo East
