The Ondo State government has announced a one-day capacity building workshop aimed at strengthening women’s participation in governance and social development across the state.
Ondo State Government under the leadership of his excellency, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women and promoting inclusive governance in the state.
The Commissioner for women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye said the ministry in collaboration with strategic stakeholders has designed the workshop for elected and appointed female officials, support group leaders, and coordinators of non-governmental organisations.
According to her, the programme will focus on equipping participants with leadership, administrative and strategic skills needed to improve service delivery and grassroots impact.
The theme of the workshop titled “The EASE Agenda for Ondo State Women: An Appraisal and Navigation of Progress Pathway for Impactful Outcomes.”
Dr Osamaye, described the programme as a continuous efforts to create a platform to reposition women leaders for better performance, community engagement, and sustainable development.
In her Words "Last year around this time, We had a similar workshop, providing a template we had worked with, now is the time, to assess how far we have gone and what more needs to be done"
She noted that the training will enhance collaboration between government officials, support groups and NGOs in addressing social and economic challenges facing women in Ondo State especially at the grassroots
She particularly praised The Aiyedatiwa-led administration for its commitment to empowering women and human capacity developments initiatives
Participants are expected to gain practical knowledge that will strengthen policy implementation and improve outcomes for women across the state. All participants will be contacted through their e-mails and private messages.
