THE MENACE OF JUMPOLOGY POLITICS IN NIGERIA

"Ojelu lo ma pa Nigeria, O daju (Politicians will definitely kill Nigerians, it's certain)"

The trend of politicians switching parties in Nigeria has raised concerns about their commitment to serving the people. The practice, often referred to as "jumpology," undermines the credibility of politicians and the stability of parties.

The demerits of jumpology include:

Lack of party loyalty and ideology

Self-serving interests over citizens' needs

Undermines party stability and credibility

Confuses voters and dilutes party identity

Enables politicians to shop for opportunities rather than serving the people

What's heroic about Agboola Ajayi's frequent party switches? Politicians like him exemplify this trend. Meanwhile, President Tinubu (APC) stands out as a consistent politician who formed his party rather than switching. Can you name another Nigerian politician with similar commitment, that hasn't jumped gun of his party among the politicians? None.

The impact of jumpology is evident:

Governance and accountability suffer

Voters' trust in politicians dwindles

Party identity is lost

Look at Bukola Saraki, a former Senate President, now almost forgotten. Most Nigerian governors have flocked to APC, raising questions about their motives.

To curb this trend, Nigeria needs electoral reforms:

Laws regulating party switching

Stronger party structures

Increased accountability measures

If these laws are gazetted, politicians might finally prioritize serving the people. It's time for Nigerians to demand accountability and commitment from their leaders. Politicians should serve the people, not their personal interests.

The masses will revolt one day, Ojo Aifiyesi unknown day is at hand, like the one that engulfed Iran recently. When we talk now they will use cyber bullying law to hook wind us(masses) One day politicians family will cry when masses judgements fall on them.
