The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Hon. Justice M.O. Kekere-Ekun, GCON, has formally sworn in 14 newly appointed judges of the Federal High Court, charging them to view their elevation not as a mere status symbol, but as a sacred constitutional trust.

During the ceremony held at the Supreme Court of Nigeria Complex in the Three Arms Zone, the CJN emphasized that the new jurists—including Hon. Justice Edingah Galumje, now belong to the law, their conscience, and the Nigerian people.

Hon. Justice M.O Kekere-Ekun revealed that their appointment followed the most rigorous, transparent, and technology-enhanced selection process in the nation history, marking the first time the National Judicial Council (NJC) and the Federal Judicial Service Commission invited public comments on shortlisted candidates to ensure only those of the highest integrity and competence emerged.

Addressing the new bench, Justice Kekere-Ekun underscored that judicial decisions resonate far beyond the courtroom, influencing markets, public confidence, and the very stability of governance.

She warned the appointees to resist all forms of social, political, or financial pressure, noting that "justice delayed through indolence or poor case management is justice denied."

The CJN address served as a firm reminder that the judiciary reforms are not cosmetic, but are deep-seated institutional determinations to reinforce public trust through clarity of thought, disciplined conduct, and unwavering fidelity to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Following the official ceremony, a reception was held at Kigali Close, where dignitaries from across the country and Taraba State gathered to honor the new judges.

Notable attendees included, Justice Ejembi Eko Jsc, Retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, CON, and his wife, alongside Hon. Danji SS and Hon. Elder Bulus Maiyaki.

During the event, retired Justice Paul Adamu Galumje offered poignant counsel to Hon. Justice Edingah Galumje, urging him to stand firmly by the truth. He emphasized that integrity is the only vehicle that ensures longevity and success on the bench, a sentiment echoed by Justice Ejembi Eko, who likewise advised the new judge to remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice without compromise.

The celebration concluded with a spiritual charge from Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, who urged the new judge to seek the face of God and follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit in his professional journey.

In an emotional vote of thanks, Hon. Justice Edingah Galumje expressed his profound gratitude to his mentors and family, specifically acknowledging the pivotal role of Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, Justice Ejembe Eko and the support of Senator Bwacha, his dear wife,  family and Hon. Gambo Maikomo.

Hon. Justice Edingah Galumje thanked those who traveled from afar to witness the occasion, pledging to vindicate the trust placed in him through a tenure defined by wisdom and the honorable administration of justice.

Congratulations 🎊 my lord sir 🙏 🙌
