How Gov Aiyedatiwa Ditched Makinde for Fashoranti ; As ADEGBONMIRE Remains Ondo Central Champion.



It was a twist of fate over the weekend, like someone abandoning a plan or skipping school work , as his excellency Gov Lucky Ayedatiwa dropped a bombshell in his camp that left a lasting taint on his 18-0 DG.


His excellency had visited APC party leaders in Abuja to discuss about the party’s candidates in the forthcoming general election. All party leaders agreed on Consensus. 


When it’s turn of Ondo senatorial district to be discussed, Gov Lucky mentioned Hon Makinde’s name as his candidate.

He was told right there that they did not know him “who is Makinde”? They asked, the governor was speechless for a while as if some nerves stooped working, that the party will be returning Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire for second term.

The governor was flabbergasted, perplexed and shocked at the same time.


In his bewildered state, rather than working with the present senator, at least give it a try and leave politics alone for a while so that he can concentrate on developing Ondo State, he came back home ruminating on how to remove the incubent by all means.

Well, perhaps he believes the present Senator being a SAN will not do any of his bidding if re-elected. 


Gov Lucky then thought within himself and his advisers; 


During my struggle it was baba Fasoranti that went to Abuja to plead with the president only God knows what he told him and I became the governor: Well let me present his son Fasoranti Jnr for senate and tell his father to meet with Tinubu to plead for him, it might work!


Loro kan sa, the governor called all his aides and told them that they are in a dicey situation, that Makinde is not sellable in Abuja and Fasoranti is the new bride.

One thing govy didn’t let his supporters know is that even the Fasoranti ticket won’t fly, it’s just a bait Tinubu can never Take.

Baba Fasoranti himself knows that president Tinubu is a man full of wisdom, who will not betray loyalty for overzealousness. 


Party Politics is all about perceived interest: 


The governor needs a senator that will listen to him when he gets to the red chambers.


Makinde wants a governor that will help him manipulate the senatorial Ticket to favor him.


The party wants an influential and resourceful senator who has laid a wonderful foundation to continue. 


Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire,SAN wants to continue his developmental strides Iin Ondo Central.


The people are not ready to change a Senator that is working for them. 


This is how political dynamism keeps shaping our democracy and we must be ready to protect and defend our legacies any day, anytime and anywhere.
