Ondo 2027: Female APC Aspirants Laud Gov Aiyedatiwa’s Women-Centric Leadership, Demand More Leadership Roles






2027 ELECTION : Ondo State Female APC Aspirants Paid Advocacy Visit to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Commends him for his strategic women- centric and inclusive Governance, Pleads For More Consideration in Leadership.

Female aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have expressed profound appreciation to his Excellency, The Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for granting them audience and listening to their concerns on the need for greater women participation in elective positions across the state.




The Strategic  meeting was  facilitated by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Osamaye, who  presented the list and Profiles of  23 female aspirants contesting  for different positions in Ondo State to the Governor and pleaded with his excellency to use his good office and political will to ensure strategic inclusion of women.



The Governor responded with renewed commitment to ensure women are included while charging them to be more supportive of another especially with those that will be finally chosen. 


Speaking on behalf of the female aspirants, the former First female speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele described the meeting with Governor Aiyedatiwa as timely, impactful, and a clear demonstration of the governor’s inclusive leadership style.


 She noted that the women were encouraged by the governor’s willingness to make out time at short notice to receive them and listen attentively to their aspirations and demands and to decisively ensure their inclusion .


According to her, Ondo State has for too long lagged behind in the area of women’s political representation when compared with other states, adding that the present Aiyedatiwa administration appears ready to correct the imbalance by opening more opportunities for women in governance and elective offices.


The aspirants also commended Dr. Seun Osamaye for championing the engagement, describing her as a dependable advocate for women’s inclusion and empowerment, praising  her for her commitment, bold leadership, and  dedication to the advancement of women in Ondo State politics. They said her tenacity and consistent efforts in creating platforms for women to interface directly with the leadership of the state have continued to inspire confidence among female politicians and stakeholders.


They equally acknowledged the support of women stakeholders and party leaders who accompanied them to the meeting, saying the solidarity shown by prominent women figures within the APC family further strengthened their resolve to pursue elective offices and contribute meaningfully to governance.


The women assured Governor Aiyedatiwa of their continued loyalty and support, while expressing optimism that his administration would be remembered in history for breaking barriers and promoting women’s active participation in politics.


They prayed for God’s wisdom, strength, and protection for the governor as he continues to steer the affairs of Ondo State, expressing confidence that his leadership will usher in more progress, fairness, and opportunities for women across the state.


Also speaking, Commissioner for women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye said the meeting is another significant step toward deepening women’s inclusion in Ondo State politics ahead of future electoral contests.
