URGENT APPEAL FOR DUE DILIGENCE IN CANDIDATE SELECTION FOR AKURE SOUTH CONSTITUENCY 1





Your Excellency,


I write with deep respect for your office and the responsibility you bear as the leader of our dear state. 


This appeal is driven by genuine concern for political integrity, fairness, and proper representation of the people of Akure South Constituency 1.


As the process of selecting candidates unfolds, it is crucial that due diligence and thorough scrutiny are applied in evaluating all aspirants. 


The choice of who emerges as the party’s candidate must go beyond political considerations and reflect true connection, loyalty, and rootedness within the constituency.


It is in this regard that I respectfully draw your attention to the candidacy of Mrs. Adeola Rosemary Fynch.


Available information indicates that she is originally from Ilesa, with both parents tracing their origin to Ilesa.


Despite this, she is currently contesting and actively campaigning in Akure South Constituency 1.


Your Excellency, this situation raises important concerns. 


Representation is not solely about ambition; it is fundamentally about identity, belonging, and a deep understanding of the people’s needs, challenges, and aspirations.


A candidate without strong organic ties to the constituency risks weakening the essence of true representation.


Permit me to respectfully pose a critical question: would the government allow a non-indigene of Ilaje to represent the people at the State House of Assembly? If such a scenario would be considered unacceptable elsewhere, why should the case of Akure South be treated differently?


Allowing such a precedent may set an unhealthy standard within our political system, where constituencies become open grounds for opportunistic ambitions rather than platforms for genuine sons and daughters of the soil to serve their people.


This could lead to dissatisfaction among indigenes, erode grassroots trust, and ultimately affect the credibility of both the party and the government.


Akure South is blessed with many capable, qualified, and committed individuals who have lived, contributed, and grown within the constituency. These individuals possess a better understanding of local realities and are well positioned to offer effective and responsive representation.


In light of the above, I respectfully urge Your Excellency to critically review all aspirants and ensure that priority is given to candidates with genuine ties to Akure South. 


The integrity of the selection process must be preserved, and decisions should reflect fairness, justice, and respect for the will of the people.


This is not merely a political issue but a matter of principle. Trust in leadership is strengthened when people feel truly represented by those who understand and belong to them.


I trust in your wisdom, fairness, and commitment to justice in addressing this matter. The people of Akure South look up to your leadership to uphold what is right and to ensure that the political process remains credible and people-centered.
