EID-EL-KABIR: ABITOGUN GREETS MUSLIM FAITHFUL

...urges constituents to reflect on the core values of the festival, which symbolises unity, love, and sacrifice.

The Akure South constituency II  candidate for the Ondo State House of Assembly in the next year elections under the platform of All Progressives Congress, Hon. Abitogun Stephen extends warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in his constituency on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In a statement issued on his behalf by his media handler, explained that the festival, one of the most significant in the Islamic calendar, it is celebrated annually with prayers, charity, love, and the sharing of gifts with friends and the needy. This gesture commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, before Allah intervened and provided a ram in place of his son.

The candidate urges celebrants to devote meaningful time to prayers and sacrifices and extend love to the less privileged among them, noting that the consistent practice of all these virtues would have a positive impact on our society. He emphasised that the festival is not solely about merrymaking but also a period for sober reflection, restitution, and genuine supplications to Allah for a divine turnaround in all spheres of human life. 

Abitogun commended the tolerance, perseverance, commitment, and contributions of our Muslim brethren to societal growth and stability through effective prayers and the preaching of love, reaching out to the needy, and peaceful coexistence with adherents of other religions, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

While congratulating worshippers on this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Abitogun urges the Muslim faithful to remain steadfast and hopeful for a better and more prosperous future. He encourages them to show appreciation for past blessings and benefits while being guided by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the Holy Quran, which emphasize love, unity, peace, kindness, sacrifice, and forgiveness.

Finally, Abitogun enjoins all stakeholders particularly those in constituency 11 to remain as one during this period, assuring them that better days are fast approaching; as he wishes brethren of the Islamic faith Allah’s guidance and blessings during this period and beyond, while encouraging them to imbibe the lessons of the festival, noting that if the lessons of the festival are practiced on daily basis, our society will be united, happier and prosperous.
